Sterling Silver: Did you know that sterling silver is the most common metal used in jewelry making? It is made up of .925% silver, and .75% other base metals, usually copper. It is stronger than pure silver and gentle on skin, making it the perfect metal for jewelry.

Gold filled: Don't confuse this with gold-plate. Gold filled is thick layers of gold that has been heated and mechanically bonded around a base metal of solid brass. Gold filled does not fade nor flake as does gold-plate. It can withstand soldering and filing and is an affordable alternative to solid gold.

Cleaning Facts

Did you know that when you wear your sterling silver jewelry regularly, it rarely needs to be polished? That's because as you move, the circulating air prevents moisture from collecting on your piece. Oxidation, or tarnishing, occurs when your piece sits idle collecting moisture, discoloring your metal to a dull gray color. This can be easily removed with a jewelry polishing cloth. To prevent oxidation, store your jewelry in the box that was provided at time of sale along with an anti-tarnish strip. Those little bags that you take out of a new purse or shoe box will also do the trick!
